Planetshakers Concert

12 April 2008 - finally the long awaited date arrived. It was the Planetshakers concert in Full Gospel Assembly (FGA), Kuala Lumpur. We left Rawang slightly after 6.00pm. Although it was there was a downpour, thank God that we managed to arrive FGA safely.

As expected, as we arrived quite late, the crowd was already huge. The photo below says everything.

A massive crowd, waiting to enter the hall

In fact, we were not able to enter the ground floor hall as it was already full. So, we had no choice but to proceed to the balcony. Having said so, we still managed to get a clear view of the stage. At least we didn't have to sit in a room and watch the Planetshakers performing through a television

The view from the balcony where we were seated

Finally! We got ourselves a place to sit.

Planetshakers started performing sharp at 8.00pm. The estimated 6000 crowd roared and gave all of their strength jumping, praising, and worshiping the main character of the night - our Lord Jesus Christ. Songs sang include Majesty, Praise Him, and Free. We felt the Holy Spirit raining down on us as the 6000 crowd from different states, races, tribes, churches, and background, united in one voice to sing for God.

The concert ended at 10.30pm. And we have not even taken our dinner yet! Anyway, we had a great time and it was an unforgettable night for us.

Praise Him

Beautiful Saviour

All Majesty

A walk to remember

*the original book

I reckon some of you out there might have watched this,or may have read it as well. The movie was produced 6 years ago from a novel to a blockbuster movie, yet
the legend have not die down.

This is a plain suggestion for those who have not watched it, grab your precious chance.
Bookworms might want to grab the book instead, but i suggest it would go better on movies.

First let me dose a bit to you on how the movie is like...

Synopsis:
Landon Carter (Shane West) and his friends are the coolest kids in Beaufort, North Carolina. They wear the right clothes, drive the right cars, and get into just enough trouble to be rebellious.
Jamie Sullivan (Mandy Moore) is the opposite--there doesn't seem to be anything cool about her. The preacher's daughter, plain Jamie wears big boxy dresses and the same sweater every day. She endures the scorn of Landon and his friends with a smile, always looking for the best in people.
When a prank planned by Landon and his friend goes terribly wrong, the principal sentences him to tutoring on the weekends and working on the school play, activities in which Jamie is involved.

*Movie poster

As the two begin spending time together, Landon finds himself intrigued by this guileless girl who sees beauty in everything and exhibits unwavering faith in people and in the world.
When circumstances beyond Landon and Jamie's control threaten their love, he stays by her side and does everything he can to make her dreams come true.
Based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Nicholas Sparks, the film also stars Peter Coyote and Daryl Hannah.

A little reminder though...get grip of the "lesson learnt" or conclusions of the movie. It will come to a whole BIg picture in the very end.
*It touched many who have watched it, so should you be touched as well. =)

Soul food: Persistence and Consistence in the lord

A man woke up early in order to have his morning devotion (prayer) in the Lord's house (church). He got dressed, set on his way to the Lord's house (church).

On his way to the church, the man fell and his clothes got dirty. He got up, brushed himself off, and headed home. At home, he changed his clothes, and was, again, on his way to the Lord's house.

On his way to the church, he fell again and at the same spot! He, again, got up, brushed himself off and headed home. At home he, once again, changed his clothes and was on his way to the Lord's house (church).

On his way to the house of God (church), he met a man holding a lamp. He asked the man of his identity and the man replied "I saw you fall twice on your way to the house of God(church), so I brought a lamp so I can light your way.

The first man thanked him profusely and the two were on their way to the house of God(church). Once at the house of God (church), the first man asked the man with the lamp to come in and pray with him. The second man refused. The first man asked him a couple more times and, Again, the answer was the same. The first man asked him why he did not wish to come in and pray. The man replied, "I am Satan". The man was shocked at this reply. Satan went On to explain, "I saw you on your way to the house of God (Church)and it was I who made you fall. When you went home, cleaned yourself and went back on your way to the house of God(church), God forgave all of your sins. I made you fall a second time, and even that did not encourage you to stay home, but rather, you went back on your way to Church.

Because of that, God forgave all the sins of the people of your household. I was afraid if I made you fall one more time, then God will
forgive the sins of the people of your village, so I made sure that you reached the house of God (Church)safely." So do not let Satan benefit from his actions. Do not put off the good you intended to do as you never know how much reward you might receive from the hardships you encounter while trying to achieve that good. For your righteousness can save your family and nation at large. Do this and see the victory of the Lord.

"If we love God sincerely, then all that we do, think & say will be directed towards pleasing God.
But if God is not so important to us,
then we will think & seek Him only when we are desperate.

Our love for God should permeate every aspect of our ordinary life."

- Fr Philip Heng, S.J.
